The long-awaited New Jersey Hall of Fame’s Entertainment and Learning Center at American Dream officially opens to the public today. Adding to the existing entertainment spaces within the shopping mall, this new museum highlights the culture and accomplishments of New Jersey through a variety of interactive experiences.
Working with the Hall of Fame and project team, Cortina Productions designed and produced seven large-scale interactive media exhibits that invite visitors to engage in exciting moments with digital Hall of Famers and celebrate New Jersey pride.
“The New Jersey Hall of Fame is proud to be opening our Entertainment and Learning Center and we hope to inspire and excite everyone who visits—whether you’re from the Garden State or not,” states Bryan Blaney, the Center’s general manager. “We’ve really enjoyed working with the team from Cortina on this project. They’ve created some amazing interactives that’ll help us to achieve that goal.”
Project highlights include the New Jersey map, which allows visitors to learn more about the various Hall of Famers through a large-scale state-shaped projection featuring gesture-driven technology; the Everyday Heroes interactive, that allows visitors to explore the stories of New Jersey residents while also encouraging them to share their own testimonial and share on social media; and the Karaoke Stage, which invites visitors to join New Jersey’s iconic singers, such as Jon Bon Jovi and Gloria Gaynor in a fun performance on stage with a holographic display of that inductee.
Positioned within the American Dream mall, next to theme park rides and commercial shops, the New Jersey Hall of Fame is actively reimagining the museum experience, while also serving to recontextualize New Jersey as a state full of possibilities, talented individuals, and everyday heroes.
