During the 2017 SXSW Interactive Festival, the Cortina Productions team conducted demonstrations of the Microsoft HoloLens at two Austin museum clients. The goal was to explore the potential for mixed reality in museums.
Mixed reality, or MR, references an experience that merges an interactive virtual environment with the real world. The Microsoft HoloLens uses holographic computing technology to create a mixed reality experience that lets visitors see virtual content while still being able to interact with the exhibits and people around them.
Partnering with two past clients, the LBJ Presidential Library and the Bullock Texas State History Museum, Cortina was able to utilize past project work to create new immersive experiences for wearers of the HoloLens. To learn more about this project, check out our video!
